PACT Act claim review

Toxic-exposure rules changed. Your old denial may deserve a new review.

ClaimScope helps Veterans connect service locations, diagnoses, exposure records, prior VA decisions, and current presumptive rules—then explains the evidence and filing path that may fit.

What ClaimScope checks

A presumption can solve one part of the claim—not every part.

Match service to the exposure rules

Confirm the location, dates, deployment history, occupational exposure, and records that establish qualifying service.

Match the diagnosis precisely

Compare the actual diagnosis—not symptoms alone—to the current presumptive list and consider other exposure theories.

Find prior claims and denials

Review the C-file and decision history to determine whether this is a new claim or a Supplemental Claim after an earlier denial.

Protect the strongest lawful path

Identify the evidence, form, review lane, and possible effective-date questions without promising approval or back pay.

Start with these records

  • DD214s and deployment or personnel records
  • Current diagnostic and treatment records
  • The complete VA decision letter and code sheet
  • Earlier claims involving the same condition or symptoms
  • Any toxic-exposure screening or registry information

Previously denied?

VA currently directs Veterans whose conditions are now presumptive to consider a Supplemental Claim. But the prior issue, diagnosis, qualifying service, new evidence, and effective-date history still need to be matched carefully.

A toxic-exposure screening is useful health documentation but is not required before starting a PACT Act claim. A presumption does not guarantee service connection, a particular rating, effective date, or back-pay amount. Do not delay a filing deadline while gathering optional records.
